RIC MURPHY is an educator, historian, and award-winning author of several historical publications, and is currently the Afro-American Historical and Genealogical Society's National Vice President for History. He is a genealogical, historical and scholar researcher and lecturer, with over thirty years of experience. He is a well sought after and engaging public speaker, and has presented on scholar topics throughout North America, the Caribbean, Europe and Africa.
Ric's impressive credentials include, but are not limited to serving in elected and appointed positions within federal, state and local governments, and has taught and lectured at the post-secondary level. He has served as Chairman of the Board of several private and community based organizations; on numerous national, local and not-for-profit Boards of Directors; on countless Advisory Boards to community-based organizations and not-for-profits; and has received numerous national awards for his public activism and community work.
His family lineage dates to the earliest colonial periods of Plymouth, Massachusetts, and of Jamestown, Virginia. As a direct result of his genealogical research, Mr. Murphy's lineage has been evaluated and accepted by several heredity societies, including but not limited to the Daughters of the American Revolution; the National Society of the Sons of Colonial New England; the Sons of the American Revolution; the Sons of the Union Veterans of the Civil War; and the Sons and Daughters of the U. S. Middle Passage. Mr. Murphy's direct lineage also includes descending from the original "20 and Odd" Africans from Kabasa, Angola.

• All-day and half day workshops available, also; plenary session and dinner speaker engagements.
• Audio/video taping negotiable (agreed to in advance in writing).
• Contact directly for current speaker fees.
• Expect a speaker contract.
• Home housing not accepted
• Multi-dimensional PowerPoint presentations.
• New lectures developed upon request
• Provides presentations at all levels: basic, intermediate and advanced.
• Projector can be provided under certain circumstances (agreed to in advance in writing).

Host Committee will provide:

• Projector, screen, table, extension cord, microphone, and a captivating audience.
• Audio taping is not allowed (unless advance written approval)
• Honorarium, lodging & transportation (economy class), plus airport pick-up and drop-off (or arrangements made).
