She completed her internship working with a Certified Genealogist and completed the American Genealogy Course offered by the NGS through Sanford University.


Jeannette is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists, the International Society of Family History Writers and Editors, the Genealogical Speakers Guild, the National Genealogical Society and a volunteer at Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness. She is webmaster of LoneStar Genealogy, recommended by Texas Highways magazine and Mic Barnette’s Genealogy radio show.


She has conducted research at the National Archives, Library of Congress and DAR Library in Washington D.C. Jeannette retains a current researcher’s card to the Library of Congress. Research is primarily conducted at Clayton Genealogical Library in Houston. She currently works with clients, heirship companies and attorneys to locate missing heirs to estates, title and genealogical research.


She has provided lectures to genealogical societies on “The Brick Wall of the Lone Star State Research”, “iGenealogy: The Good and Bad of Online Genealogy” and others. Jeannette is a current IIGS Texas Genealogy Instructor.

    Jeannette Piecznski is a professional genealogist, lecturer and author. She was a Texas GenWeb Mentor and Archives Manager. She began the slogan "Don't Mess With The Living In Texas", to help genealogists understand how to protect living relatives personal information. She was an author in the publication “Under the Oak Tree” and author of “Tracing Family Roots: A Beginners Guide to Genealogical Research" used as a guide for middle school students. Jeannette enjoys her love of history to sew heirloom christening gowns and reproductions of ladies gowns from the 1800s.
