Bio:
She is a native Texan from Victoria who received her undergraduate degree in Music Education from the University of Texas in Austin, Master's Degree in Education, University of Houston-Victoria, Ph.D. Education Curriculum and Instruction from Texas A&M University in College Station.
She is a Past President of the Texas State Genealogical Society, Past Regent, Guadalupe Victoria Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution, Previous Texas State DAR Chorus Director, District III President of the Texas Retired Teachers Association, and writer for The Victoria Advocate genealogy column, “Relatively Speaking,” for which she won the 2008 First Place Award for Columnists in the Texas State Genealogy Society Writing Awards Contest. Later this month she will be elected Secretary of the National Genealogy Society at their National Convention in Salt Lake City.
She is the group leader for the Texas Tracers, a group of genealogists who travel to Salt Lake City each year for nine days of concentrated genealogy research. This year in June will be their eleventh trip.
She has been married for 49 years to Kenneth Jones, her high school sweetheart, and they have two sons, Jason and David, who live near Austin and enjoy coming to Port O’Connor and fishing with their dad.
