Bio:

Schelly Talalay Dardashti, a native New Yorker based in Tel Aviv, focuses on Jewish genealogy as researcher, journalist, top-ranked Jewish genealogy blogger, online instructor and international speaker. For 20 years, she's been tracing the DARDASHTI and TALALAY families across Europe, Asia, The Middle East and the Americas. Her TALALAY family has Sephardic roots and has inspired a lifelong interest in Sephardic genealogy and resources. Co-administrator of the IberianAshkenaz DNA Project at FamilyTreeDNA.com, she writes the top-ranked Tracing the Tribe: The Jewish Genealogy Blog (since 2006); was the Jerusalem Post genealogy columnist (It's All Relative, 1999-2005) and continues to write for the paper; taught online Jewish genealogy (MyFamily.com, GenClass.com) and has presented internationally (Spain, UK, Hong Kong, Australia, Israel, US) on Jewish genealogy, DNA projects and blogging. She received the 2010 National Genealogical Society (NGS) Award for Excellence: Genealogical Methods and Sources for her article, "Ties That Bind: Jewish Research Strategies," which appeared in the September 2009 issue of Family Tree Magazine. She has received several ISFHWE awards for past articles in the Jerusalem Post and other publications.
